In the weekend of whitsun i went to the campsite near Giethoorn with the caravan. The weatherforcast was ok, so i looked forward to spend the weekend with my friends. So after the last checks i drove from home to the campsite on thursday-evening. It was almost dark when i arrived.

Today 8e June is the day that the first new herring is for sale. It’s an old dutch tradition to make party of this and thus there are Herring-Party’s all over the country. The number of dutch-people who spend vacantion in Holland rises. In the past years about 20% of the dutch spend theire vacation in their own country. This year will be around 30%. The reason is clear and simple. People have less money to spend. Besides that, the good summers we had lately are also an explanation.

On the 14 of may it was 6e liveshow. The show was a kind of easy-listening and a live-bigband. Anyway, just a few shows to go to the finale. In my opinion Jaap, (he was the best in the last show) Sumera and Dony are the 3 to come to the finale. Anyway that was what i thought.

On the 7 of may it was already the 5e liveshow. The theme of this show was: songs from a movie. The seven compatitors made it a big show, with dance etc. In my opinion it wasn’t the best show but, after they all made their performence, it was clear to the jury that “The bad-boys” and [...]

For many people in Holland, Ascensionday is just a day off from work (like Christmass and Easter). And because Ascensionday is always on a thursday, many will also take the friday as a free day, and will be 4 days free (incl. the weekend).
